Thanksgiving so far....

  • Nov. 26th, 2009 at 1:43 PM

Hmmm...where do I start?

Monday/Tuesday: spent the entire day/night doing laundry, packing, and pretty much relaxing as we left at two in the freakin morning to go down to visit the family. Instead of probably doing the smart thing and taking a nap beforehand, I didn't sleep and stayed up. We left around two in the morning and finally got on the road around 3. Drove to Joplin and got Starbucks before we drove straight through, stopping mainly for gas and food. We gots hungry. Got into town around 5, 5: 30 and had REAL Mexican food. Yumminess.

Wednesday: Hung out with my Aunt Kim for most of the day until the rest of the family (Uncle Rick, Aunt Beth) showed up. Got myself a new shirt and bought Star Trek for $20 bucks, which isn't bad. Found out Hannah doesn't remember me and is very shy.

Thursday: Everyone is over and very talkative and loud. Am currently killing time since everyone is in the kitchen and I have no wish to get in the way. Am planning on reading fanfic and drinking my Captain Morgan/Dr. Pepper. Is very good. Yes, I am of legal age :P

It's the end of the world as we know it!

  • Nov. 11th, 2009 at 2:28 AM

Be very very afraid...I have COMPLETELY cleaned my bedroom. All that's left is taking down my bed and installing the queen sized bedframe....which'll probably  get done sometime after Thanksgiving. Here's hoping I can keep my room clean till then. If you're curious...it's BOOKS. They take over....have a mind of their own I swear.

Writer's Block: Just another manic Monday

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 1:55 AM

Do you look forward to returning to work/school on Mondays or do you live for the weekend? What do you enjoy most about weekends? What do you dread most about school and/or work?

View 835 Answers

Hmmm...I hate Mondays simply because it means I have get up early and go to Math (which I have no one to blame but me since I *chose* the early class). I like weekends mainly because I can destress from being around people. I am *not* a people person, never have been and weekends tend to be the days I hide from everyone. I both hate and like Mondays because I have to deal with people...but they're my friends so it's not usually a bad thing.

WTF and Christmas Wish List

  • Nov. 5th, 2009 at 8:07 PM

It's days like this that make me realize I need an icon that says WTF?! I think I'm going hunting later on.

Somewhat WTF-I forgot NaNoWriMo started...like four days ago. That's a minor WTF. I blame myself for that one :P. Between cramps and a stomach bug, NaNoWriMo was *not* at the top of my list of things to remember.

More WTF-Amazon apparently took money from my account and I haven't ordered anything lately beyond The Dresden Files. I'm not even sure it WAS Amazon.com because it doesn't match the other transactions I've had with Amazon.com. Going to the bank tomorrow to find out what's going on. Hells, I only caught it because I wanted to buy a game off ebay and was wondering if I had the money avaliable. Here's hoping it all goes my way.

On a better note, here's my Christmas wish list for my friends/family who read this journal and feel like spending the money:

Supernatural, seasons 3 and 4
Xena Warrior Princess for the Playstation 1
Original Tomb Raider for the Playstation 1
Turn Coat by Jim Butcher
Seasons 3 and 4 of Yu Yu Hakusho
Thundercats
Complete Series of Starsky and Hutch (if it's findable)

hells, just buy me a damned gift card to Barnes and Noble. Trust me, I'll spend it. :D

Edit: Added to wish list, changed the privacy options, and changed my icon

Wheee

  • Oct. 19th, 2009 at 2:03 PM

was edited to fix italic mess-ups.

*Finally* got my room into some semblance of order. Doubt'll last long though. :P It never does. Currently reading a shitload of fantasy books, here's the list of what I've started *and* finished since Saturday morning:

Enemies and Allies by Kevin J. Anderson
Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Avalon High Coronation 1,2,3 by Meg Cabot (I read anything King Arthur, even teen books :P)
Hornblower During The Crisis by C.S. Forester
Ice In His Veins by Chuck Zito
Star Trek by Alan Dean Foster (Book tie-in to movie)

Am currently reading:

Foundation by Mercedes Lackey
Sebastian by Anne Bishop (Ephemera #1)
Belladonna by Anne Bishop (Ephemera #2)

Plan to be done with by Thursday:

Gwenhwyfar: The White Spirit by Mercedes Lackey
Appaloosa by Robert B. Parker (Appaloosa #1)
Resolution by Robert B. Parker (Appaloosa #2)
Batman and Philosophy by William Irwin, Mark D. White, and Robert Arp
Confessions of a Casanova by Chris Kenry
Alta by Mercedes Lackey
Opus Dei: An Objective Look by John L. Allen
Turn Coat by Jim Butcher
The Shadow Queen by Anne Bishop (Black Jewels #7)

So yeah....I'm gonna catch up on my readings :D. Not to mention I've been in a Dresden Files mood for the past few days and am severely tempted to buy the show just so I can quit annoying Hulu with how often I've watched it.  I like Bob, so sue me.

Not to mention I've pretty much been listening to Humanoid by Tokio Hotel ever since I got it in the mail, so now I've got weirdass dreams that cross over Dresden Files with Transformers (watch the music vid for Automatic by Tokio Hotel and you'd get why I've got Transformers in my head). I'm gonna go finish Foundations before I actually write it and hope the last 100 pages gets it out of my mind. Yes, I am that close to finishing Foundations. 30 mins max.

So lost my cell phone. Found it but it's dead. Have to charge my old phone before can switch back to it. Gah. Oh well, so I'm phoneless until tomorrow. Too much to do this week. Fix  the car is the most of it. So I will be tetchy people. Deal with it.

Eh?

So I pre-ordered Tokio Hotel's new CD Humanoid which came out today. Amazon shipped it through the USPS from their storage area in Kentucky. I live in St. Louis Missouri...why is it going to take until the 14th to get to me?! Am I the *only* one that this confuses? Slightly annoyed. What annoys me more is that if they get it in early, they won't send it to me until the 14th.  So for the next week, it's going to sit somewhere in Hazelwood. Ay yi yi yi yi. Next time, I'm getting free shipping. At least it gets to me faster that way...though I have to order at least 25 bucks in something or other. I'll figure it out.

Currently starting to read Dan Brown's books The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, and The Lost Symbol. We own Da Vinci Code and Lost Symbol but not Angels and Demons. Slightly amused by this. Also found out I now own two copies of Stephen King's The Wasteland. Gonna see if [info]bobbo_the_great wants it. He's collecting the Dark Tower books due to me. I love corrupting people into reading more books.

Alright, I'm off to watch the rest of Transformers and start The Code of the Woosters by P.G. Wodehouse. Cramps suck severely, plus I had a migraine yesterday. Took 3 Excedrin and it tore my stomach up. Still slightly quesy from it. Didn't help my headache much either beyond dulling it down to the point I could actually sleep...so I guess it did help a little. My plan today is pretty much reading and waiting for the naproxen to kick in. Night/Day/Whatever all!

I have figured out....I hate rain. Anyone been paying attention to the flooding in Atlanta GA? I was there for Anime Weekend Atlanta. I drove through the damned rain storm Monday. The convention center started to leak Sunday due to the amount of rain. Let me tell you, despite lack of coffee you move *fast* when you see merchandise about to be ruined. I was a dealer and the leaks began to hit our neighbor. So my friend and I spent about a good hour helping him to dry off his anime statues and watch for any more leaks. The convention staff had fixed it by the time the con started, so it ended well. Packing everything up at the end of the day was fun, got it done in an hour and 50 mins...newest time. Longest has been five hours (so not our fault. We had to wait a good hour or two before we could get the van close enough to load it).

Saturday my friends and I are gonna hit a local psychic fair and I have no idea what's going on.  Pfft, I don't even know what time we're leaving Saturday morning. Probably noon so at least I can get some sleep.

Anyone else having problems with Gmail? It been sporadically letting me access my email. Was about to on Tuesday and haven't been since. Might try again later today.

Found a new fandom...like I *need* more. The Donald Strachey Mysteries....been watching that and due South so I've got the weirdest plot bunnies in my head.

Hmmm....note to self...buy more naproxen (Aleve for you non-knowing people). I'm almost out. Hey, the bottle lasted nearly 2 years, so no yelling at me.

know i'm forgetting something but I'm sleepy and hungry and want some Dr. Pepper. adios all.

 My evil plan...mwah ha ha:

Congratulations on being the creator of a new Evil Plan (tm)!

Your objective is simple: Soul Accumulation.

Your motive is a little bit more complex: To show them all

Stage One

To begin your plan, you must first assassinate a military general. This will cause the world to wipe the sleep from their eyes, alarmed by your arrival. Who is this demon straight out of hell? Where did they come from? And why do they look so good as a dark gunslinger?

Stage Two

Next, you must destroy united nations. This will all be done from a hell, a mysterious place of unrivaled dark glory. Upon seeing this, the world will give up, as countless hordes of ninjas hasten to do your every bidding.

Stage Three

Finally, you must let loose your great supernatural forces, bringing about the return of the antichrist. Your name shall become synonymous with fuzzy bunnies, and no man will ever again dare call you names. Everyone will bow before your superhuman powers, and the world will have no choice but to make you their new god.

Internet Weirdness

  • Aug. 30th, 2009 at 11:20 PM

Okay, so everyone who knows me knows that I'd rather forget the Bible exists. To me, it's fiction. However, every now and then I'll run across a version that doesn't quite weird me out to the point I use it as a giant paperweight...I don't think that's possible with this version actually...but, whatever. You'll get a kick out of it methinks.

The Brick Testament

And now, I'm off on a trip with a Mountie, his half-deaf wolf, and a Polish Chicago Flatfoot with experimental hair followed by pretty men and fast cars, then going backwards in time to the old west to a town called Appaloosa and then finally making a pit stop with dinosaurs, Dr. Alan Grant and Isla Sorna

(For the confused, due South season 3, Fast and Furious, Appaloosa, and Jurassic Park 3)

Not my day

  • Jun. 16th, 2009 at 4:14 PM

So not my day. I'm house and dog sitting for my friend's boss for the next two weeks.

I'm getting paid, am allowed to have friends and family over when feel like it. Planning on having friends over tomorrow and Thursday to keep me from going absolutely bonkers. Am within 5 mins walking distance of a majority of places, including Wal-Mart, Blockbuster's, and a coffee shop.

Unfortunately, I started my Tartarus-damned period today.  My laptop won't connect to their computer's internet but I can use theirs freely, they already said I could. Am without Dr. Pepper, Doritos, and Chocolate, and I'm exhausted. Power went out about 3 in the morning today and I haven't been able to get back to sleep. It came back on about 6 I think, but have no real idea. Most likely will be going to sleep super-early today, depending on just how much more tired I get. Will also probably walk over to Wal-Mart later for stuff or wait until tomorrow when i'm more rested.

In other news, my mom's going to the ER tomorrow because she hurt her knee and the doctor told her to go to the ER. She also is suppose to go in on Friday for kidney stones thingie that has to do with ultrasounds.

Damn I got a busy summer. Let's hope it stays relatively drama free for awhile.

Gah...

  • May. 12th, 2009 at 6:31 PM

In regards to my icon...no I don't remember where I got it but if anyone else does, let me know so I can credit it!

Now then...long ass time since my last update....gah. Been busy as all hell, specially the last two weeks:

A) My mom has kidney stones and we had to deal with that since Wednesday.

B) Found out yesterday two friends are mine are getting divorced...and yes from each other. It sounds like no one is quite sure of the real reason but I'm wondering if it's a he said/she said thing that just got out of fucking control. I'm worried for both of them and the fall out that's gonna come from it.

C) Going to RenFaire in about a week and found out that two people who I wouldn't cry over if they dropped dead are coming. Oh, and one of them bought 96 freakin' hot dogs and buns instead of just coughing up twenty bucks to cover food. Does anyone else see the stupidity in this? 96 HOT DOGS instead of paying $20 to the people buying food for the weekend. Doesn't that cost more? I wanna find the heaviest book I own...and I own a shit ton of books, and smack him upside his head. I've had bad dealings with this guy and his g/f and could really do without hanging out with them. The g/f started some shit about one of my best friends that ended up with my reputation going down the drain because of close proximity. Ever want to kill someone and know you would if there was no consequences? I'm beginning to think these two would be my choices. Hells, if they start something next weekend, I'm gonna finish it and it'll end with them in the hospital. Yes I'm babblin'.

Did see Star Trek and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Was confused though half of Star Trek till I realized it's effectively an AU and that's all you're getting out of me for spoilers. Was playing spot the actor with my mom though. I think Karl Urban makes a good McCoy...but I'm biased cause he's hot. :P

Looked up the actors of Star Trek after I got home. Guy who plays Sulu, John Cho (?), was in an episode of Charmed and of Magnificent Seven, which is where I've seen him. The actress who plays Uhuru, Zoe something-or-other, was Annamaria in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Actor who plays Kirk was the prince guy in Princess Diaries 2. Kirk's mom was played by the actress who plays Cameron in House and why oh why do I see cross-overs?

And, of course, everyone know who Leonard Nimoy is. ::grin:: He's suppose to be on Fringe tonight so I might watch it to see him though I hate the show. My mom hates it cause it reminds her of X-Files but I like X-Files..but hate Fringe. Don't ask me why, I don't know.

Waiting for the first season of JAG to get to my local library. Requested it and it's been in transit for nearly a week now. I've never *seen* the first season and I really need to hunt down the episodes that bring NCIS in.

And...it's nearly 7 and I got plans with [info]bobbo_the_great and whinetasting and her husband later...so adios all!

So my local library had a book sale today (and yesterday and tomorrow). My mom and I went and I got a shitload of books for only about 12 bucks...considering some of these just came out not even a year ago and a few aren't even *in* print anymore, this is really really good. Here's what I got

-Most of the first season of Hercules. I think I'm missing like four, five episodes.
-Forbidden by Susan Johnson
-Blade novelization by Mel Odom
-Keeper of the Heart by Johanna Lindsey
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Carnival of Souls by Nancy Holder
-The Harlequin by Laurell K Hamilton
-Storm Warning by Mercedes Lackey
-Owlflight by Mercedes Lackey
-The Children of Hurin by J.R.R Tolkien
-Strangers in Death by J.D Robb
-Creation in Death by J.D. Robb
-Small Favor by Jim Butcher
-The Wastelands by Stephen King
-Warrior's Woman by Johanna Lindsey
-Texas Splendor by Bobbi Smith

he he he he....Ise very happy right now.

Weird Ass Dreams....

  • Mar. 4th, 2009 at 3:05 PM

This is why I never should read books that take me more than a few hours to read...it gives me weird ass dreams apparently. A few of them at that.

Dream 1: Dreamt I went blind. Parents bought me a german shepherd guide dog and for some reason wouldn't let me name him Horatio (CSI: Miami or Horatio Hornblower, pick one), so I named him Dean (Dean Winchester, Supernatural). Had friends over a few weeks later and we continued our D&D campaign...though they had to read off my attacks and such.

It's interesting watching a dream where you're blind but you can see what's happening anyway.

Dream 2: Twilight and Angel/Buffy influenced. Dreamt I was in Alaska with the Cullens (Why I had *no* idea) and they were getting attacked by a giant monster type thing that ate vampires. Angel, Spike, and Ethan from Buffy and Angel showed up and killed the monster...and at the very end the hinges on my laptop broke...as I was getting attacked by one last monster and Bella was screaming bloody blue murder.

Woke up from that thanks to my cat slamming into my door.

Sometimes I hate dreams...but I got my new movie today, yay! It's The Boondock Saints and I really can't wait until the sequel comes out. ::dances::

Huh?

  • Feb. 11th, 2009 at 3:35 PM

Just a rant, been building for a bit now...

Okay, I'll admit I was one of those 'Twilight? WTF?' people for awhile. My vampires *aren't* sparkly dammit. They like to kill people or brood in dark corners (Spike and Angel for your info), or they're half-scarred and can fly (Asher from Anita Blake) or simply French and very likable (Jean-Claude, also from Anita Blake). I like those types of vamps...and then Twilight comes out and it's *all* people can talk about. What is this? The vampire version of the Potter craze for Ares's sake? I barely withstood that (I didnt read them unti Prisoner of Azkaban was making it's debut). I don't like to follow crazes, it makes me crazy (yes, that was on purpose).

However, I tend not to truly demean something until I've at least tried to read it (case in point, Ursula K. LeGuin's books). My main problem with Twilight is the fangirls. Gods, flashbacks to High School is what I don't need. So I took the plunge, started reading Twilight (for the fourth time...and finally got past the first three pages) and loathe as I am to admit it, it's not that bad (still only halfway through it).  I don't see the need for all the screaming and fangirls (never have, never will), but I will admit it's not bad.

.....but gods, must you fangirls assault me in my local library?! Got New Moon today to entice me to finish Twilight and nearly got into a fight with a girl over the damned book. I felt like channeling my inner Rodney McKay or whoever and tearing the girl to pieces verbally. It's a damned *book*. Request it, wait the two/three weeks like I did, and go hide in your room and stay up all damned night reading it.

Okay, rant done. Off to watch Buffy (never watch when reading Supernatural fic....my brain is coming up with weird crossover plot bunnies i'm try desperately to hack into pieces).

Christmas

  • Dec. 26th, 2008 at 11:17 AM

So barring the *bad* news so far...I've had a pretty good holiday so far. I'm talking to my younger sister again (yay!), I pretty much got what I wanted for Christmas (considering I bought most of it myself, ::snicker::). I got a warm, dark blue sweater type coat, the first two seasons of Yu Yu Hakusho, the complete series of Saiyuki, and the movie Saiyuki Requiem, along with Godchild #8. Depending on how much money I have left (not much if any), I'm probably going to buy Godchild #7 and then I am done with that series. Mwah ha ha ha ha.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I wonder about Missouri sometimes....

  • Dec. 16th, 2008 at 5:46 PM

I don't know whether to laugh my ass off or groan...I've heard of stupid laws in Missouri but this one *has* to take the cake:

MO Considers Decriminalizing Margarine

yes! maybe....

  • Dec. 13th, 2008 at 5:23 PM

So my dad finally decided to get off the pre-paid cell phone plan and join another cell phone company...what company I don't know. I'm trying to talk him into U.S. Cellular so that it won't cost me anything to have people call but he's thinking All Tell (?). At the very least I've gotten him to look around before deciding on one company...so hopefully this'll go well. We'll be keeping our cell numbers, so I don't have to worry about telling anyone a new number, so we'll see how this goes.

If anyone knows a good company next to U.S Cellular, let me know. The more to give my dad ideas the better.

I'm alive.....barely

  • Dec. 2nd, 2008 at 2:02 PM

My thanksgiving week.....

Tuesday:

Finally left around 2 in the afternoon due to the car rental people messing up...nearly 14 hours later....got into Texas. My mom drove from our house to Joplin, Missouri and then I took over until Wichita Falls Texas...meaning I drove all of Oklahoma. Wasn't that bad, saw Ft. Sill where I was born 22 years ago. Got in around 4:30 in the morning and went straight to sleep.

Wednesday:

Woke up at 8 in the morning because my mom and I had hair appointments with my cousin Jamie. She's studying cosmotology, so instead of it costing us nearly $100, it was only $40ish. I got my hair highlighted/streaked golden blonde and it looks awesome! Plan to post some pictures of it up later...don't think I got any taken over the week so I has to get some. My mom got her hair cut and it's neat....and very short. Afterwards we hung out with my Aunt Kim until dinnertime where my Aunt Beth, Uncle Lee, and Uncle Rick came over. Uncle Rick brought his daughter Hannah who was shy for all of an hour before she didn't want to let me go...my aunts and uncles still stare at me...my mom calls me the Pied Piper. There may be some basis in that as my relatives came from the town where the Pied Piper stole the children....can't remember the name of it.

Thursday:
Everyone came over to my grandfathers and my cousins Jamie and Jacob basically hid with my brother Jason playing games/computer. While there was wireless, I was too damned busy over the week to log in. Had fun though. My Uncle Rick cooked the turkey, my Aunt Kim made the sweet potatoes, forgot what my Aunt Beth made and Jason made twice baked potatoes. We also had green bean casserole but I forget who made it. Played with Hannah a bit and also played ping pong with my Uncles Rick and Lee. Realized that none of us can play but we had fun.

Ovens don't like my Uncle Rick...it kept turning off for some reason. Overall Thanksgiving was fun.

Friday:
Basically lounged and slept all day until around 4ish where we went out to some Mexican place for food. Was pretty good actually. I had the Tilapia steak, which was very good. Didn't finish it but then no one finished their dinner. BIG portions...but very good.

Saturday:
Everyone came over again and Uncle Rick made brisket. Lots of fat on the brisket but it was pretty good. Spent most of it talking to relatives and reminding my Uncle Rick that yes, I am 22 and allowed to drink beer.

Sunday:
Spent the day at my Uncle Rick's. My cousin Jacob was borrowing Guitar Hero 3 from some friend of his, so we played it (by we I mean me, Jason, Jacob, and Jamie). My Uncle Rick tried and couldn't seem to understand you have to hit the colored buttons and the strum bar at the same time the notes crossed the circles at the bottom of the screen. Was fun though watching him trying.

Monday:
Woke up at 8, packed, and spent a good 12/13 hours on the road. I drove from Joplin, Missouri to home, which wasn't that bad of a trip actually. Realized that McDonald's sucks so I don't eat it anymore for a reason. (we had it for lunch). Read Supernatural: Bone Key for a bit and text'd my friend Josh until my phone died. Finally got home around 11ish at night, unpacked, plug in my phone and realized Josh sent me a shitload of texts...emailed him an apology...as my dad has my car charger...kinda impossible for me to text him.

And today, Tuesday the 2....I has school. Am currently in the hour passing time between Mythology and Math. Making up my math is going to not be fun, but I cans do.

Had a long talk with my mom...and realized I've been letting my friends kinda dictate my life. It's not a bad thing, just if I'm ever to dictate my life and what I wanna do with it, I gotta start standing up to them all instead of agreeing to almost everything (and using my mom as an excuse).

Plan to go job hunting ASAP. Been trying but I needs to try bit harder methinks. Tired of relying on my friends for almost everything lately. It's not me and it's annoying the crap out of me. Probably why I'm so moody lately....well, that and my cold that doesn't wanna seem to go away.

eww....and looking at the time I gots to go or I shall be late for my maths class. Must remember to remind people to come over Thursday....spending today and tomorrow unpacking, cleaning, and sleeping...and working on my finals.

Onwards to life...full speed ahead and damn what people think! You only get one life after all.
